TRAVELING ARTWORKS EXIT/ENTRY AUTHORIZATION DEPARTMENT

Important:

Due to the preparations and realization of the Formula E Race, there will be traffic and access restrictions for the parking of vehicles in the entire area of the Parque Forestal from January 31st to February 4th, 2018. It is recommended to make the request for the artworks exit permit at later dates.

The department was created in 1976 in compliance with the law Nr. 17236 of the Ministry of Education, enforced to protect the national heritage. It is responsible for issuing permits for the exit from Chilean territory of any work of art considered original: painting, sculpture, drawing or engraving by Chilean and foreign artists.

The value for the exit permit for a work of art is CLP$ 5,000, semiannually indexed by the CPI (Consumer Prices Index). This Department also responds to requests for admission of Chilean artists own works, eligible for duty-free under Article 9, Nr. 2 of Law Nr. 19,128.

The application and issuing of the permit takes about two working days.
