Luz Huertas Castillo studied at San Marcos University of Lima. She has a M.A. in history and is a Ph.D. Candidate by Texas Christian University. The outstanding historian gave a conference at the Patrimonial Library of the Regional Museum of Atacama about the crash between policemen and protesters at Bagua (Amazonas, Peru).
The public filled the room. Also regional authorities attended the conference: the Intendant and the Provincial Director of Education.
After the presentation an interesting conversation between the historian and the public began about the social conflicts emerging between states imposing neoliberal models and their indigenous populations, who face the consequences of policies that benefit translational companies.
